Jimmy Kimmel used his Thursday night monologue to critique President Donald Trump's recent demeanor, noting that the leader appears to be in a "very good mood" despite the approaching midterm elections. Those contests could result in Trump's party losing control of both houses of Congress. Kimmel argued that the president's public behavior contradicts his self-reported state of mind.

The host played a clip of Trump losing his temper at a reporter who asked if the president had canceled a planned Saturday rally in Kansas because he was "sick of traveling." Trump responded to the question by calling the reporter a "sick guy." He then launched a series of personal attacks, pointing to the reporter's physique and saying, "Look at this dope, look at this guy, he's way out of shape." The president added, "You are disgusting. Put yourself in shape, you look like hell."

Kimmel highlighted the irony of Trump criticizing another person's appearance. The comedian suggested that the White House might lack mirrors and proposed that staff take the president to the Reflecting Pool for a clearer view. This bit of humor followed Trump's sudden decision to cancel two rallies scheduled for the current weekend.

The cancellions come as recent events have faced interruptions from hecklers. One protester recently sang, "Trump went on the Jeffrey Epstein plane." Kimmel referred to Epstein as Trump's "BFJeff," a nod to their previous close friendship. During that rally, Trump claimed he removed Epstein from his Mar-a-Lago resort because the financier was "a whack job."

The host argued that the "whack job" explanation did not align with past comments from the president. Kimmel played footage from last year in which Trump stated he kicked Epstein out for hiring away staff at his spa. The president recalled telling Epstein to stop, noting, "He was fine, and then not too long after that, he did it again and I said, 'outta here.'"

Kimmel emphasized that the departure happened the moment Epstein began poaching massage staff. The comedian concluded the segment by stating that the real reason for the rift was the poaching of spa employees, not Epstein's personality. This exchange occurred in the lead-up to the midterm elections, where voter sentiment may be influenced by the president's public appearances and recent scheduling changes.
