Jay-Z will take the stage for the Super Bowl LXI halftime show on February 14, 2027. The performance will take place at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California. The NFL, Apple Music, and the artist announced the selection on Monday.

Roc Nation, Jay-Z's entertainment company, has managed the halftime production since 2019. The firm recently signed a five-year contract extension that secures its role through 2029. Under Roc Nation's management, the shows have shifted toward hip-hop and rap genres. Last year's event in Santa Clara featured Bad Bunny, Lady Gaga, and Ricky Martin.

Los Angeles has hosted previous halftime shows that featured major rap acts. The 2022 event included Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J. Blige, and Kendrick Lamar. Other recent headliners include Rihanna in 2023, Usher in 2024, and Kendrick Lamar and SZA in 2025.

Despite his history with the league's performers, Jay-Z has never performed at a Super Bowl. The 25-time Grammy winner is currently touring to mark the 30th anniversary of his debut album, Reasonable Doubt, and the 25th anniversary of The Blueprint.

His Jay-Z 30 Tour began with three dates at Yankee Stadium in July. He then played two shows in London and one in Paris in September. His tour concluded with two shows on October 23 and 24 at SoFi Stadium. Those final dates occurred just three days before the announcement of his Super Bowl performance.
