Jay-Z has officially booked himself as the headliner for the Super Bowl halftime show on Feb. 14, 2027, at SoFi Stadium. The rapper and his company, Roc Nation, serve as the NFL’s production partner for the event. They have held that role since 2019. This year, the primary decision-maker for the lineup chose to perform under his own name.
The specific identity of the halftime artist is no longer a mystery. However, the teams competing for the championship are still unknown. Fans must wait until the final day of January for that answer. The current focus has shifted to the guest list. Past halftime performers have frequently brought out additional artists, and there is a strong likelihood Jay-Z will follow that tradition.
Beyonce stands out as the most probable guest. She has been married to Jay-Z since 2018, and the couple shares three children. Their musical history includes early collaborations like “03 Bonnie and Clyde” and 2003’s “Crazy in Love.” They have also released “Drunk in Love,” “Part II (On the Run),” “Deja Vu,” and “Lift Off.” The pair have toured together, establishing a familiarity with sharing a stage.
Beyonce has previous experience on the NFL’s big stage. She performed with Coldplay and Bruno Mars during the 2016 halftime show. In 2001, she sang the national anthem in Houston. Most recently, she took the stage at the “Beyonce Bowl” in Houston on Christmas Day 2024.
Rihanna is another strong candidate. Jay-Z helped launch her career in 2005 while serving as CEO of Def Jam Records. She later moved to Roc Nation in 2010. They have recorded “Umbrella,” “Run This Town,” and “FourFiveSeconds.” Earlier this year, Rihanna made a surprise appearance at his tour at Yankee Stadium. She headlined the Super Bowl halftime show in 2023, a performance where she announced her pregnancy.
Blu Ivy Carter, the couple’s oldest child, is also a possibility. She served as a dancer during her mother’s 2024 Houston halftime performance and joined the Cowboy Carter tour in the same role. She has developed a dedicated fanbase that cheers for her at concerts. She also has direct NFL experience, having danced on that stage previously and often attending games with her father. A performance could become a family affair.
Eminem completes the list of potential guests. He joined Jay-Z on stage during the rapper’s current tour. The two collaborated on the track “Renegade” for the album The Blueprint. Eminem has prior NFL stage experience, appearing as a special guest during the 2022 Super Bowl halftime show. That event featured a historic hip-hop lineup. The next scheduled milestone for the event is the announcement of the competing teams at the end of January.
