The 2026-27 UEFA Women's Champions League league phase reaches its halfway point this week, with Matchday 3 games scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday. Four rounds remain before the knockout playoffs begin in February. Barcelona enters the weekend as the only team with maximum points from the first two matches.
The reigning champions are favored to maintain their lead. Barcelona defeated Paris FC 5-2 in Matchday 1 and Roma 6-0 in the second round. Ewa Pajor, the Polish forward, now holds the record for the most goals in the competition's group and league phases with 18. The team travels to Denmark to face HB Koge, who secured their first victory of the tournament by beating Servette 5-1.
Other high-profile matchups include Chelsea against Roma and Bayern Munich against Real Madrid on Wednesday. Chelsea, who shut out Lyonnes in their previous game, host Roma, a side that has taken only one draw from two fixtures. Bayern Munich seeks a win after drawing with Manchester City and beating Benfica 3-0. Real Madrid, currently winless with two draws, aim to improve their standing.
Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester City clash on Thursday at 4 p.m. Eastern time. PSG previously defeated OH Leuven by five goals and drew 1-1 with Real Madrid. Manchester City continues its search for a first victory in the competition. The match is one of eight games being streamed on Paramount+, with select broadcasts also available on CBS Sports Golazo Network and CBS Sports Network.
OL Lyonnes, who opened the tournament with an 8-0 win over Servette, face Inter in their next fixture. Lyonnes' form has fluctuated, as they were held scoreless by Chelsea in their second match. Inter, making their debut in the tournament, remain unbeaten with one win and one draw.
At the bottom of the table, Hacken and Servette remain without points. Hacken plays Paris FC on Thursday, a match that could determine if they stay in contention for a top 12 finish. OH Leuven have struggled to score, while Manchester City and Real Madrid face pressure to convert their draws into victories.
Barcelona's dominance was further recognized at Monday's Ballon d'Or ceremony. The club was named best club, with Pere Romeu winning coach of the year. Vicky Lopez received the best young talent award, and Cata Coll was named best goalkeeper. Alexia Putellas, who has since moved to London City Lionesses, won the women's Ballon d'Or based on voting from August 2025 to July 2026.
