Iowa and Kansas have shifted from safe Republican territory to competitive races, prompting the President to campaign in both states on the weekend.

About 50 million Americans cast ballots before the election day, with President Donald Trump spending the weekend campaigning in Iowa and Kansas.
Kansas has not elected a Democrat to the U.S. Senate in nearly 100 years. That record is at risk this Tuesday. Republican incumbent Roger Marshall released a closing argument video on Sunday to defend his medical practices. Marshall’s staff reportedly did not want the video published and feared it might hurt his campaign.
A New York Times poll places Democrat Adam Hamilton ahead of Marshall by five points. The race in Iowa remains tightly contested. Trump spoke about the physical condition of Democrat Ashley Hinson during a stop in the state.
“I knew Ashley for a long time and she was a little bit heavier,” Trump said. “But Ashley knew the importance of what this was and how important it was and why she put herself, she went on a regimen. She put herself in shape. She’s in perfect shape.”
Trump added that Hinson asked him not to mention the topic. Democrats need to win four net seats to regain control of the Senate. Both parties view the Iowa and Kansas races as valuable targets.
