Sydney Gruters declared her victory in a new, large congressional district after learning the results during an interview with reporter Ivy Morton. The win gives her a seat in a district that spans several counties in Florida.

Gruters stated that her campaign strategy relied on direct engagement with voters. She traveled extensively across the district's geographic span, visiting DeSoto County, Hardy County, Pinellas County, and Sarasota County. The candidate reported campaigning six days per week to reach voters from one end of the district to the other.

“We won! It’s wild. It’s such an honor, and I’m so excited,” Gruters said. She attributed the outcome to a message centered on keeping the community safe, affordable, and free in the Florida way. Gruters believes this platform resonated with the electorate.

The new representative identified setting up local constituent services as her primary objective. She stated that this work begins the day after the election. Gruters emphasized that members of Congress, particularly those serving their first term, can make a tangible impact at the local level.

“That’s been my passion, and that’s what I promise that I’m going to focus on,” Gruters said. Her approach prioritizes immediate, on-the-ground service to the residents of the newly formed district.
